Whatever you are facing, you can bring it honestly to God. Choose the prayer that comes closest to what is on your heart.
Use these words as they are, change them to fit your circumstances, or let them help you begin. You may speak aloud or pray silently. God does not require perfect words.
Where someone is in danger or needs medical, professional or practical help, prayer should accompany action rather than replace it.
Illness and care
Pray for the person by name if you can.
Lord Jesus, you drew near to people who were suffering.
Be close to N. in this illness and give them strength for today.
Bring healing where healing is possible, and peace amid uncertainty.
Guide everyone who treats, cares for and supports them.
Amen.
Bring your body, mind and fear honestly to God.
Merciful God, I bring you my body, my mind and my fear.
Stay with me in pain, weakness and uncertainty.
Give wisdom to those who care for me and patience for each day.
Keep me rooted in the love of Christ, whatever this illness brings.

God of freedom, this habit has more power over me than I want to admit.
Show me its causes, its consequences and the lies that keep it hidden.

Lord Jesus, travel with us on this journey.

Protect all who travel and all whose work keeps travellers safe.
