Pray with the Saints

Many Catholic and Orthodox Christians ask Mary and the saints to pray with them and for them. Choose someone whose life or traditional patronage speaks to the need you wish to bring before God.

Christians who use these prayers do not worship Mary, the saints or the angels. Worship belongs to God alone. They are asking fellow members of the communion of saints—the family of Christ on earth and in heaven—to join their prayer. Many Protestant Christians do not follow this practice and direct their prayers to God without asking a saint to intercede.

The particular patronages below are drawn mainly from Catholic tradition. These are new simple prayers written for this website, not ancient or official texts. Where a prayer uses N., say the person’s name if you wish.
