Simple Prayers
Simple Prayers is a quiet place to find the words and begin to pray.
You do not need to be a Christian to pray, everyone is welcome to use the prayers that help them draw closer to God.
You can use one of the traditional prayers on this site or, if you prefer, pray in your own words.
You can pray aloud or silently, and do not need perfect words or previous experience.
2 Speak honestly: Tell God what is troubling you, what you need or what you are thankful for.
3 Finish simply: Be with me, Lord. Amen.
Many Christians make the Sign of the Cross at the beginning and end of prayer. It is a help to prayer, not a requirement.
Using your right hand, touch your forehead, the centre of your chest, your left shoulder and then your right shoulder while saying:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
