Morning and Night Prayer

Lord God, I become still before you.

Thank you for this new day and for the breath of life.

Guide my thoughts, words and actions.

Give me patience when I am tested and kindness towards the people I meet.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

I place this day in your hands. Help me to live it with faith, hope and love.

Amen.

Lord God, I become still before you at the end of this day.

I remember what has happened, and I thank you for every sign of goodness.

Forgive me for the ways I failed to love you, myself or others.

I pray for everyone who needs help tonight, especially those who are ill, afraid, grieving or alone.

I entrust this night to you.

Give me peace, guard me from harm, and let me rest in your love.
